What this page covers
This page explains how Bricksmart uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies (collectively referred to as “cookies” from here on). It complements our Privacy Policy and is published in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
A cookie is a small piece of data stored in your browser by the websites you visit. Cookies let a website recognise you on your next visit, keep you logged in, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others are optional and only run with your consent.
Cookie categories on Bricksmart
We group the cookies on Bricksmart into three categories. The consent banner you see on your first visit lets you accept or reject each optional category. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer or by clearing the “bricksmart-consent” entry from your browser storage.
Strictly necessary
These run on every visit and cannot be switched off. They keep you signed in, sign and rate-limit your API calls, store your chosen sidebar state and tab, remember your cookie preferences, and protect the site from abuse. Without them the Platform cannot work. Under PECR Regulation 6(4) we do not need your consent to set strictly necessary cookies.
Analytics
These help us understand how the Platform is being used so we can improve it — which features are popular, where users get stuck, and which routes are slow. We rely on a third-party product-analytics provider for this. Analytics cookies are only set after you opt in through the consent banner.
Marketing
If we run any paid advertising campaigns, marketing cookies help us measure their effectiveness and limit how often the same ad is shown. We currently use these sparingly, and only after you opt in through the consent banner.
Third parties
Some cookies are set by third-party services that we embed — today these include our analytics provider, our authentication provider, our payments provider and our hosting and bot-protection layer. Where these third parties support consent-mode signalling, we pass your consent choices to them so they restrict their behaviour accordingly.
Each third party operates under its own privacy and cookie policies, which we recommend you read if you want a full picture of their data processing.
Managing cookies in your browser
On top of the in-app banner, every major browser lets you control cookies directly: block all cookies, block cookies from particular sites, see what cookies are currently set, and clear stored cookies. The exact controls vary; consult your browser’s help pages for instructions.
Please note that blocking the strictly necessary cookie category will prevent you from signing in or using most of the Platform.
Changes
We update this page from time to time to reflect changes in the Platform, its providers, or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when it was last revised. For material changes we will also surface a fresh consent banner so you can review your choices.
